For a movie about an infamous New York State prison, Sing Sing sure has a lot of Texas in it. The director, Greg Kwedar, is from Fort Worth and based in Austin. Producer Monique Walton also lives in the capital city. Then there’s the film’s song,“Like a Bird,” which was written and performed by two Texans, singer-songwriter Abraham Alexander of Fort Worth and Austin-based guitarist and producer Adrian Quesada, who’s originally from Laredo and best known for his work in the Black Pumas.
