EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A 24-year-old man is dead following a T-bone crash that happened early Sunday morning, Oct. 27 in East El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department (EPPD).
EPPD said the Special Traffic Investigations responded to the 11200 block of Edgemere Blvd. at 2:44 a.m. on Oct. 27.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 19-year-old driver was traveling in a truck westbound on the 11200 block of Edgemere Blvd., while Israel Josaiah, 24, was traveling southbound in a car on the 3400 block of War Arrow Place.
Josaiah approached the intersection and turned onto Edgemere. However, he failed to yield the right way, and a T-bone crash occurred with the truck, according to EPPD.
EPPD said Josaiah died from his injuries sustained, and his passenger identified by police as a 19-year-old female, was transported with what were called non-critical injuries.
EPPD said the main contributing factor in this collision is the failure to yield the right of way.
This is the 56th traffic fatality of 2024 compared to 62 in 2023, according to EPPD.
