EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 19-year-old man was killed when he struck a boulder and electrical poles in Northwest El Paso, causing his vehicle to roll over and catch fire, El Paso Police said.
The crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22 along the 7800 block of Enchanted Springs.
The 19-year-old driver, whom police are still working on identifying, was traveling along the road at a high rate of speed, failed to stay on the road, and hit a large boulder and electric poles, police said.
The collision caused the vehicle to roll and catch fire.
The driver died at the scene.
This is the 14th traffic fatality in the City limits compared to 12 at the same time last year.
