This past Thursday, KVIA ABC-7 aired its “exclusive ride” with Mayor Renard Johnson, who told Paul Cicala, “What I will do as Mayor is I will lean on my relationships to bring in economic development for this community.”
What he really means is that he will lure his investor friends to El Paso by providing them with tax forgiveness and other give-away incentives at taxpayer expense while dropping a half-billion-dollar deck plaza on our budget like an atomic bomb.
Actually, we are all on an exclusive ride with Renard Johnson, and not just KVIA , and we are still waiting for our local media to ask him how he intends to “lower our taxes.”
