Low-lying, rural areas may get as cold as 28. Areas affected include: Sunland Park, Vado, Las Cruces, Columbus, Derry, Deming, and Truth Or Consequences. Act now to protect pets, plants, and pipes. (El Paso will drop to 38 at the airport, 33 in the valley.)

TONIGHT: The skies will be clear, and we are in for a very cold night after the passage of the cold front. The winds will turn calm, and the lows will drop to 38 at the airport, 33 in the valley. A Freeze Warning is posted from midnight to 9 AM for much of southern New Mexico, including Las Cruces and Deming, which could touch 32 and 30 respectively.
FORECAST: Monday will start out very cold and clear but turn sunny and warm with a high of 70, so dress in layers. The SE winds will range from 5-10 mph. Tuesday will be sunny and even warmer with a high of 80. The SW winds will range from 5-20 mph. Wednesday will be sunny with a high of 79. Thursday will be sunny and 80 with warm afternoon breezes to 20 mph. Friday will be partly cloudy with very gusty winds by the afternoon. The SW winds will pick up and gust near 55 mph, which could cause a dusty haze. Friday’s high will be 82, but these strong winds will turn cold on Saturday as a cold front sweeps through. Saturday will be partly cloudy and windy with a high of 59.
