EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Fire Department personnel have participated in rescuing two people who were stranded because of the devastating flooding in Central Texas.
Both people who were rescued were stranded in a tree after their vehicle was swept away, a spokesman with the El Paso Fire Department said.
They have also assisted 30 to 40 individuals, along with multiple pets, during evacuations from an RV park, the spokesman said.
Six members of the department’s Water Rescue Team deployed to the flood-ravaged area of Central Texas over the weekend.

The Fire Department is currently supporting wide-range search operations in Burnet County to help locate missing individuals. Burnet County is one of the counties hit by record flooding.
“Our team is coordinating efforts with local agencies conducting ground and aerial searches,” the spokesman said.
They are working as part of Texas Task Force 1 with numerous other agencies.
The El Paso Fire Department said its firefighters are prepared to remain in Central Texas until July 15, continuing to support ongoing operations as needed.
The department is ready to deploy another six individuals if needed, the spokesman said.
