EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Municipal Rose Garden is now open.
The garden, at 1702 N. Copia St. in Central El Paso, had its season opening on Saturday, March 1 and will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Nov. 30, except for City holidays.
“It is that time of the year when the seasons change and the beautiful roses bloom at the Municipal Rose Garden. The iconic space adds to the natural beauty of our City and brings the community together,” El Paso Parks and Recreation Department Director Pablo Caballero said. “The Rose Garden represents our collective commitment to enhancing our public spaces and creating a lasting place for people to connect, enjoy, and appreciate the wonders of nature.”
Spanning 4 acres, the El Paso Municipal Rose Garden is home to more than 1,400 rose bushes representing over 430 varieties.
“Visitors can stroll through scenic walking paths, relax on shaded benches, and admire the tranquil waterfalls nestled within the garden,” the City said in its news release.
First opened in May 1959, the Rose Garden has flourished with the support of the El Paso Master Gardeners, who volunteer as part of a collaboration between the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the City of El Paso, in partnership with the El Paso Rose Society. Volunteers contribute to the garden’s upkeep by pruning, deadheading, weeding, and maintaining rose inventories, “ensuring a stunning and welcoming space for all,” the City said.
