EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The UTEP men’s basketball team announced their 2024-2025 television broadcast team on Wednesday, and some familiar names will be calling the action for the Miners this season.
KTSM 9 News evening anchor Andy Morgan will serve as the play-by-play commentator while former UTEP assistant coach Bobby Braswell will serve as the color analyst for games streaming on ESPN+.
Morgan, who also serves as the play-by-play announcer for UTEP football games, will be behind the mic for at least 14 games this season. His play-by-experience dates back over a decade and has also served as a sideline reporter for New Mexico State football and men’s basketball games the past few years.
Braswell was an assistant coach at UTEP under Tim Floyd from 2016-2018. He served as the head coach for Cal State Northridge for nearly two decades and compiled a record of 251-258, winning the Big Sky Conference Tournament in 2001 to reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. Braswell was also named Big Sky Coach of the Year in 2001 and most recently served as an assistant at Long Beach State.
UTEP will tip-off their 2024-25 season on November 4 against Sul Ross State at the Don Haskins Center. The Miners are coming off an 18-win season, including an improbable run to the championship game of the Conference USA Tournament. Golding returns eight scholarship players, including three starters from last year’s squad.
