EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) is inviting students, alumni, faculty, staff and the community to celebrate Homecoming Week.
The celebrations run from Sunday, Nov. 3 to Saturday, Nov. 9 and will include a 5K run, pep rally, reunions and a tailgate party before the football game against Kennesaw State on Nov. 9.
The following celebrations will be done throughout the Homecoming Week with their respective registrations:
Sunday, Nov. 3, 14th Annual Miner Dash 5K Run/Walk
8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Centennial Plaza. To register you can visit the link here.
Monday, Nov. 4, UTEP Alumni Association golf tournament
Check-in begins at 8 a.m. at the El Paso Country Club. For more details on sponsorships and teams, contact Mallory Payan at mpayan12@utep.edu
Thursday, Nov.7, Homecoming pep rally
12 to 2 p.m. at Centennial Plaza. Celebrate Paydirt Pete’s 50th birthday with cupcakes, inflatables, carnival games and more. RSVP through the link here.
Saturday, Nov. 9, UTEP Alumni Association pregame party
11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the GR-2 parking lot outside the Sun Bowl Stadium. The public is invited to enjoy food and entertainment before the football game. Tickets to purchase food and drinks can be purchased through the link here.
To close out Homecoming, the UTEP football team will take on Kennesaw State at 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Sun Bow.

According to UTEP, the “Mining Minds” pickaxe sculpture will be illuminated orange from Nov. 3 through Nov. 9. The “M” on the mountain across from the Sun Bowl will be lit on Nov. 9.
