EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The deadline for voter registration is near for the upcoming the March 2024 Primary Election, the El Paso County Elections Department announced on Friday, Feb. 2.
The Elections Department says the deadline for voter registration will be on Monday, Feb. 5.
“Voters will choose their candidates for U.S. President, U.S. Senate, congressional and legislative offices, the State Board of Education, the Railroad Commission, Judicial, local, and political party seats,” the Elections Department said through a press release.
In order to vote, an applicant must complete and submit a Voter Registration Application (VRA) at least 30 days before every election, according to the Elections Department. After a VRA is processed, a Voter Registration Certificate will be mailed to applicants within 30 days.

The Elections Department would like to remind voters that if they have moved to a new residence or need to make a name or address change, it is their resposinility to contact the department in order to make those necessary changes.
The El Paso County Elections Department will be open until 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5 for any local residents who prefer to register to vote in person. The Elections Department is located on 500 E, San Antonio Ave., Suite 314, El Paso, TX., 79901.
“VRA’s are also available at any U.S. Post Office, the Department of Public Safety, El
Paso Public Libraries, Texas Health and Human Services Commission offices and any local high school,” the Elections Department said.
