EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 33-year-old wanted man was arrested on multiple warrants and his sister is facing charges of hindering his arrest, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.
On Tuesday, Sept. 23, deputies conducted a criminal investigation involving Daniel De La Pena, 33, who was wanted on an assault-family violence warrant in Texas and another criminal warrant with extradition to California.
Detectives found De La Pena at a home along the 14500 block of Encantado Drive in East El Paso county.
Detectives made contact with Esperanza Mondragon, 28, who identified herself as De La Pena’s sister.
She was told about his outstanding warrants and she denied he was at the home, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Detectives then got a search warrant and arrested De La Pena.
He was booked on seven traffic warrants, a local assault-family violence warrant and is pending extradition to California on an additional charge of assault. His bonds totaled $2,181.
Mondragon was charged with hindering apprehension of a wanted person and interference with public duties. Her total bonds were $2,000.
Both suspects were booked into El Paso County Detention Facility.
