The dish, a popular snack in many underprivileged households, features a hot dog that is filled with processed yellow cheese, wrapped in a corn tortilla, and deep-fried. It’s so treasured among locals that they have no compunction about fighting over it in the public square known as the internet (just like with breakfast tacos). Such was the case last week when Gimme Gimme, a Southtown bar, put its own twist on the dish for its new Monday special. The social media backlash was swift.
